Stand out Business Card That Sells for You

There have been so many changes that took place in the business environment over these short years. Computers for one, has been a major contributor for that change. You can have an excellent manufacturing process, an effective way of distribution now, or a good administrative system and all of that can change in a matter of a few years. New innovations almost always pop up.

Not the idea of a business card. Since its early days when it was still called as a personal calling card, business cards has never lost its important role in providing people and new acquaintances in what you are and what you do. It has earned a constant place in the industry. And its popularity is far from going under.

With the explosion of varieties of jobs and new businesses now, each with his own card to hand and swap, you would think that it will be very easy for your card to be misplaced, lost, ignored and forgotten. You are so right.

But business cards are one of the most important advertising tools especially for small businesses. Business cards are very efficient reminders to people that one gets into contact with. They are convenient and popular. They are necessary, easy to create, and soft on the budget. The question today, with the number of business cards that is exchanged between hands is - how to make it effective.

To do that here are basic suggestions on how it is to be done.

• Design it with stiff competition in mind. Make the artwork up to date (today the trend is “less is more”), stylish colourful accurate and very readable. If you do not share a bit of Picasso, hire someone who does. It will make you a good return to invest in a good business card.

• If you need more information and choices, you can opt to visit business card providers online. Choices range to thousands of design templates that you can tweak to your satisfaction and order direct. There are numerous professional business card designers online providing the top notch quality templates and prints.

• Use the space at the reverse of your card. This will double the amount of information written on your card without overcrowding it. Make it more useful to your customers.

• The face of your card should raise the curiosity of the prospect and the benefit promised should encourage them to act. A discount rate for example during the initial consultation or orders will make it more meaningful to your prospective clients and more worthy of keeping.

• Make your business card physically different from other business cards or turn it into a mini- folding billboard. Try using other appropriate materials instead of the usual run of the mill boards.

• Stretch your titles. No matter how many times it has been said, people get impressed with titles and designations. Your card will tend to earn more respect and stay more with your clients if it is perceived to come from someone having a more respectable title.

These principles have been covered many times and in many ways that it would have seemed obvious. Yet you will be surprised that very few people take notice and put it to use.

These principles help. Your business cards must represent you and be your salesman speaking to your client once the meeting is over.
